It was the first such site in Guatemala and is currently only one of two in the country. For tourists visiting the site, there is the Copan Sculpture Museum on the site, which opened in 1996.
In theory, the journey should take around seven hours, but bad traffic and border delays (we had both) can make it longer. In total, the transfer took us 10 hours!
