They replaced an Aragon 8008bb and Manley Neo-Classic 250's. I ran these amps both independently and bi-amped together. JC1's take a long time to break-in, upwards of 1400 hours.This is over-stated on several points. Quads are considered some of the more difficult loads for amps and generally sound their best with tube amps. Even smaller tube amps, like those originally offered by Quad.
