The manual release screw should be accessed thru a hole on the starboard (right) transom bracket; two turns out should be enough to release. Looks like you may have to use a hand held impact screwdriver to loosen that fill screw. It is the one you have circled. Good luck.

Pull the small primer hose off the hose barb on the top of the top carb. Turn the key to on, and push in on the key. If fuel pulses out of the end of the hose, the solenoid is working.

If the motor cranks when you jump it there are a couple of things that it could be, a bad 20 amp fuse, starter solenoid, ignition switch, safety neutral switch, or bad wiring. (I'm assumming the control box is in neutral). The 20 amp fuse is on the motor in a red wire coming off the solenoid. (I would check the fuse first).#1 · Mar 11, 2007.
